It was my dad who first spotted the small bald patch on my scalp, and at the time, I had no idea how much my life was about to change. Looking back now, it feels like a distant, surreal dream. There are so many things I wish someone had prepared me for—like the emotional rollercoaster, the treatments, and the surprising resilience I would discover within myself.

Initially, I was scared, but my faith and my parents’ unwavering support kept me grounded. As a family, we spent countless hours searching for answers, trying to make sense of what was happening to me. One important thing we learned is that alopecia is unpredictable—sometimes it improves, and other times it doesn’t. However, one truth remains constant: alopecia does not define who you are or your ability to rise above it.

Seeking support from family, friends, and loved ones without shame is essential. You can also find comfort through online communities or therapy, as connecting with people who truly understand your journey can make a world of difference.

It’s perfectly okay to feel sad, frustrated, or angry—emotional healing is a process that takes time.

Today, I embrace alopecia as a part of my story, not its conclusion. I hope my journey can help others feel less isolated, more hopeful, and deeply empowered.
